GENERAL WARNINGS
DO NOT insta ll this equipment without first rea d-

INSTALLING HARDWARE (FIGURE 1)
1. Move foam padding on inside of Personal Back shell
to access the mounting holes.
2. Insert the Threaded Latch Pin (Item 1) from the back
of the Personal Back, threaded end first toward out-
side edge of Personal Back. Insert through first hole
ONLY.
INSTALLATION WARNINGS
The position of the Persona l Ba ck in the different
mounting bra cket slots is directly rela ted to the
cha ir's sta bility. When the Persona l Ba ck is a dded
to a TILT a nd/or RECLINING cha ir, it ma y ca use a
decrea se in the cha ir's sta bility. It ma y be neces-
sa ry to re position the FRONT CASTERS, REAR
WHEELS, BACK ANGLE, TILT-IN-SPACE, RECLINE PO-
SITION a nd/or SEAT DEPTH before use. Use EXTREME
ca ution when using a new sea ting position.
3. Slide the #10 flat washer (Item 6) onto the threaded
end from the inside of the Personal Back.
4. SlidetheUtilitySpring(Item5) ontotheLatchPinand
slidethreadsoftheLatchPinthroughremaininghole.
5. Temporarily screw the Nylon Locking Key (Item
2) onto the Latch Pin to prevent Latch Pin from
falling out of the Personal Back. DO NOT USE
LOCTITE YET.

6. Locate the groove on the Latch Pin.
INSTALLATION CAUTION
Whe n using LOCTITE 290, follow the ma nufa c -
ture rs' re c omme nda tions.
7. Push latch pin fully through Personal Back until
retaining groove is visible from inside Personal
Back.
USERWARNINGS
Skin c ondition should be c he c ke d fre que ntly
a fte r the insta lla tion of a ny ne w se a t.
8. This requires compressing the spring. Maintain
spring in compressed position to access groove.
9. Insert Retaining Ring (Item 4) into groove on Latch
Your thera pist a nd physicia n should be consulted
if you ha ve a ny que stions re ga rding individua l
limita tions a nd ne e ds.

10. Release Latch Pin. It will be held in place by the
Retaining Ring.
